New lens, new life…

August 24, 2012

OMG! I just clicked ‘confirm’ and bought new lens for my Cannon. Cannon EF 50mm f/1.8 II.

I know that what I need is to continue practicing but this is really motivating!

I adore color and light in photography and I felt that I needed a greater aperture. My current lens is 3.5, which is not bad, but I’ve been craving a greater aperture for months. Yay!!!

If someone has used this lens and has suggestions, good shots to show us… please let us know! If someone has used this lens and has negative comments, critics… please, don’t let us know. At least, don’t let me know. Too late now.

In any case, the price is very reasonable so I won’t lose very much if I don’t end up liking it.

By the way, thank you very much for your suggestions in my last post. I have photoshop in my office computer and I’d like to try to edit the same picture with it, to learn and to compare with GIMP. I will let you know.

I’ve had this lens for 10 years and I can say that image sharpness and quality is very high for the price. I use it for low light, when I want to REALLY blur the background, and macro shots. I use Tiffen’s close-up filters for really close shots. It is a versatile lens which can do a lot of things! I promise you’ll get lots stunning shots from it!

This is a great lens that takes beautiful photos and has much more versatility than one may realize. I take all my macros with it (with extension tubes attached) and love both the bokeh and sharpness. Can’t wait to see the photos you take with this new lens!

I just bought a Nikon D3100 and cannot wait to see what it does, but when I do buy a more intense lense, you can guarantee, it will be a blast! ;0)

I love this lense! i’m not a big fan of using a flash so this this little one is so great for low light shots and gives a lovely clear image, the only draw back is the 50mm, i would really love a wider prime lense but they’re bit more expensive but you definately won’t be disappointed with this one 🙂 thanks for checking out my photos by the way. I really like how you mix your own photo posts with ones of other photographers, its really interesting and gives me more to explore!
